The circuit draws about 0.9 A when connected, The two Analog Devices chips
gets quite hot.
It still keeps informing the computer about a new high speed USB device, but
it can't get further. The LED is still not blinking.
Is there anybody that can suggest what's wrong with the board, or will I
have to return it for fix?

Subject: [Discuss-gnuradio] LED not blinking
Date: Fri, 07 Jul 2006 20:33:12 +0200
I have just received the USRP, connected the basicrx and basictx, installed
all the software, connected the USB 2.0 cable and connected power to it
with the USRP power adapter.
But when I read dmesg I only see these messages:
[17179697.552000] usb 3-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and
address 2
[17179700.664000] usb 3-5: device descriptor read/64, error -110
[17179715.884000] usb 3-5: device descriptor read/64, error -110
[17179716.104000] usb 3-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and
address 3
[17179719.216000] usb 3-5: device descriptor read/64, error -110
[17179734.436000] usb 3-5: device descriptor read/64, error -110
[17179734.656000] usb 3-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and
address 4
[17179739.676000] usb 3-5: device descriptor read/8, error -110
[17179744.800000] usb 3-5: device descriptor read/8, error -110
The LED on the board is not blinking, and there's no device listed in the
lsusb output.
But after about an hour fiddling around, suddenly the LED started blinking,
I got the right messages from dmesg, and i could read the new device in
lsusb. When I then tried to start some of the programs, it tried to reach
the USRP and then it suddenly stopped blinking again. The same error
messages appeared in the dmesg output, and it disappeared from the lsusb
output. After that it has not started blinking again. I can't get it to
work. I can feel that the ALTERA chip on the middle is getting a bit warm,
so I assume that it's doing something, but I don't know what.
Isn't it supposed to blink with only the power outlet connected to it ??
Thanks for help!
Ruben
