FWIW we're planning on using the VITA Radio Transport (VRT) Protocol, aka VITA-49: http://www.digitalif.org http://www.digitalif.org/images/VRT_49.0_draft_0.21_approved.pdf It supports picosecond resolution timestamps, GPS, and a bunch more.
