Yes! sudo apt-get install python-mako
After searching I found a post from 7th July about this.
Currently it appears the recipes are out of date on the server. I had
already tried an update and did so again just now. I tend to update at
the weekend as the data doesn't count towards my monthly data cap.
AFter installing mako UHD compiled. Unfortunately, without this new
package. it doesn't seem to give error messages, it just doesn't do it
so its not an obvious error.
I was hoping Ettus might have fixed the USB3 flakiness that prevents
the B200/B210 from working sometimes. I will see once it finishes
compiling.

I just updated build-gnuradio to take care of this today.

Ah – and what is Mako? Google reveals:
“Mako is a template library written in Python. It provides a familiar,
non-XML syntax which compiles into Python modules for maximum performance”
Wonder why I didn’t think of that!

Sorry, to clarify: the recent transition to mako. Update your recipes and
the latest ones will have mako.

This is probably because of the recent transition to UHD. I just came across
this while bringing up a new PC. Mako needs to be added as a dependency in
the UHD recipe or LibUHD will get disabled. The result is very fast
"compilation" with no lib built.

Two things I can suggest:
1) make pybombs forget about UHD: "./pybombs inv uhd"
2) rebuild with increased verbosity to see what went wrong: "./pybombs
install -v -v uhd"

Did I do something wrong? I just tried to update gnuradio and in pybombs
UHD
downloads lots of data which it then compiles and installs in about 5
seconds. I can't imagine it is really doing that. Then the following
gnuradio build fails because it can't find the UHD libs. Not surprising
really as although pybombs thinks they are, they are not installed.

GDB has a 'break' feature; why doesn't it have 'fix' too?
