What the the other Marcus intended to stress was that you're connected
using USB __2__, which is too slow. Use a USB __3__ host controller.
Sadly, not all work equally well. Generally, if you can, use an Intel
host controller as integrated with many modern mainboards; with my
oldish laptop, I'm having O.K. experiences with a Renesas Technology
Corp. uPD720202 based USB3 Expresscard expansion.
