The second part is what I was asking about.  For some reason my brain was
stuck on the PDU CAR/CDR and having multiple vectors in the CDR.  I could
completely do that since it's all generic anyway.  Could just make the CDR
a tuple and stuff as many different types of uniform vectors as I want into
the same PDU.
