problem solved.
Debian testing is switching to PyQt5.
There already is a simple patch for it in debian-bugs.

PS. I am a bit confused by the mailinglist, I see my name (only) as
address@hidden.
I now just send an email to the mailing list with the same subject and it
works somehow.
