In building GR 3.10.8 after an OS upgrade to Leap 15.5, I was blocked by the dependency of Python 3.7.2. I am intending to install python 3.8.18 or 3.9.18 (both suffer from a minor, likely inconsequential make test failure). However, this (for me) raises the question of constraining the highest version of python for use with a given GR version. I feel that a python version in the security maintenance stage should be safe.
