After the thread about NSComboBox (just a few days ago, 19/05/2005),
Fred Kiefer made some changes. Maybe something got broken in the process.
No, (at least not that I know of :-( ) what broke this behaviour was a
patch last September, it was just that nobody noticed in between. In the
meantime I had some private mail exchange with Matt Rice, how, after
investigating the Cocoas behaviour in more detail, come up with an
excellent looking patch. Expect to see some code change in this area in
the near future, which not only resolves the combo box issue, but will
improve the whole cell handling for table views.
