This is most likely a bug with libtiff, which GNUstep uses to read tiff files, but I'm not sure.

I found another bug- Gray scale tiff images either does't show or show
up grabled in the image inspector. The thumbnails created by the
thumbnailer shows up correctly though.
I forgot to mention before that I am using the xlib backend.
