For those of you who use Slackware and would like a stable build of
GNUstep, I have again created packages for the latest releases of the
GNUstep environment. Unlike the packages for Slackware 11.0, I split
-core into it's 4 separate packages for two reasons: (1) better
maintainability and (2) better flexibility. If needed, you can now
install just -make and -base, or the whole thing.
The following packages are included under
ftp://ftp.gnustep.org/pub/gnustep/binaries/slackware :
* gnustep-make 2.0.1
* gnustep-base 1.14.0
* gnustep-gui 0.12.0
* gnustep-back 0.12.0
* Gorm.app 1.2.1
* GWorkspace.app 0.8.6
* SystemPreferences.app 1.0.1.r25305
GNUstep-make was configured using the fhs-system Filesystem Layout, and
GNUstep-back using the libart backend.
All other packages are the latest stable releases. I used
SystemPreferences from svn because it includes the GNUmakefile in the
root directory so all I need to do is a simple make.
As can be seen, I did not create a ProjectCenter packages because the
current release ( 0.4.3) does not work with make 2.0! I do request that
a new version be release to conform to the current make release.
Thank you
Thank you so much for your effort! Your packages have been a great help
for me setting up GNUstep on my machine.
I realized that there is a different directory structure now. I wonder
why this change was made?
Best regards,
Holger
