Subject: Standalone views in Gorm?

Apple's Interface Builder allows you to create standalone views,
which is quite convenient for creating views that are supposed to
be inserted into another window (e.g., the individual panes of an
application's preferences window). Apparently, the obvious ways
to do that in Gorm (dragging a custom view out of the palette and
attempting to instantiate an NSView from the class browser) do
not work. Am I missing a non-obvious way to create standalone
views in Gorm or is this not supported? If the latter, are there
any plans to implement this feature?
