Hi Richard,

since all my attempts to get GNUstep to work with my gcc 4.2.3 I am considering to retry from scratch even with another gcc version. Can anyone recommend a gcc version that is known to cause the least problems with the latest GNUstep tree?

I think it's about a year since I last built on sol10 (so we certainly aren't talking about the latest GNUstep code here), but the compiler I have on the system is as follows:

Using built-in specs.
Target: sparc-sun-solaris2.10
Configured with: ../configure --with-as=/usr/sfw/bin/gas --without-gnu-ld --with-ld=/usr/ccs/bin/ld --enable-shared --enable-languages=c,c++,objc --prefix=/home/cls/GNUstep/usr/local --with-pic
Thread model: posix
gcc version 4.1.1

Thanks a lot! I will then try out exactly this compiler!

Regards,

 Andreas
