I do have an offline backup of the pages, but the only reason I can think of why they would no longer be online is that he removed them from the server. I can't really put the pages back myself unless I hear from him that he wants them back. You most likely can still get a copy from google cache or some other internet caching/archiving web site. Being able to ask him would be ideal.
