An open source Core Animation would be pretty amazing, and with that and the
other frameworks, Chameleon should be able to run! That'd be pretty
impressive!

Chameleon is all under a BSD license which is far more permissive than GPL,
and that's the way I like it. I personally dislike the GPL and find it too
restrictive. I understand the goals, but I don't agree it's necessary to
strong-arm people into sharing. Chameleon has now had several contributions
from a number of others and I suspect they would also all have to agree to
dual license their contributions. While not an insurmountable problem, I
have no interest in doing it.

It should be possible to use Chameleon to test their Core Animation layer
and software could even be built using the whole open source stack once it's
complete, but no, I don't want to add any additional restrictions to my
code.

Hi,

GNUstep which is an open source implementation of AppKit and other NextStep
frameworks, are currently trying to implement the UIKit and CoreAnimation
frameworks. But as you did already big part of the UIKit, is it ok that they
use your code?

The CoreAnimation is the missing part, and they can start in implementing
it, but it would be easy if they already have the UIKit to test with it.

The problem is that FSF (Free Software Foundation) www.gnu.org require that
they use the FSF Open Source Copy Left in all the code in its repositories,
in www.gna.org

So is it ok for you that they put their own FSF Copy Left on the top of the
code files?

Thanks
