I just yesterday read some of my own old posts on the subject, and, surprisingly, I still agree with myself :-)
Chameleon is great for bringing iOS APIs to the desktop, but from what I read about it, it is no replacement for a "real" implementation. Another issue is that GNUstep doesn't have Core Animation yet. It's being actively worked on, but even when it's (mostly) done it probably won't be immediately integrated with AppKit; that is, NSViews probably won't immediately get capability of being layer-backed. So that blocks Chameleon; on the other hand, NSLayers not being CA-backed doesn't block a full implementation of UIKit. :-) Regards, Ivan Vučica via phone On 12. 6. 2012., at 00:48, Lars Sonchocky-Helldorf <[email protected]> wrote: > Is anyone aware of this project?
