But then I also notice that I'm effectively using this code to load the bundle:
  NSString *path = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"GNUstepPatches" 
ofType:@"bundle"];
  NSBundle *bundle = [NSBundle bundleWithPath:path];
So this may or may not be relevant to you.
