As a registered developer, you can get info about crash reports for Mac App
Store apps. I think it's aggregated so you get 'representative' crash
reports. (Yes, this obviously doesn't apply to your case, as you were using
a PowerPC-based Mac.)

You should be able to see crash reports in Console.app.

There's also something called 'zombies' under OS X, which may help you
track over-releases better. It's activated through an environment variable.

Almost all of my development experience is post-10.5 (post-10.6, even), so
YMMV.
