FlexiSheet was imported 2008 as "salvaged code" with permission from the
original author. However, it was an unfinished version with ongoing
changes. It was pure Mac and we started making it work on GNUstep to a
certain amount. Also it was older code of 10.2 era being transitioned to
coolnesses of 10.4 at that time. The original author interrupted work on
it though.
So one never knows if the code is buggy or it is GNUstep, but it was a
good showcase. Comparison with running on 10.4 should always be possible.
We hoped to gain some "momentum" in application and have people help out
on it, but it never happened.
Personally I don't know much of its actual use, I just fixed build
issues during the years.
Also, although the webkit is installed, I am not able to show the HTML
help from the menu. I needed to loot at it inside the Source folder.
Maybe an option to add at compile time?
Help was in progress of being transitioned to HTML. I remember that.
Here SimpleWebKit would be if its prime use.
I noticed the WebView is not loaded and throws an exception, even if SWK
is installed. Needs investigation.
Both SimpleWebKit and FlexiSheet however suffered the same fate: code
put in OpenSource that never attracted new coders.
