Hi Patrick,

I use to build my projects firt within a text console (no X session). I was using 'make_services' after each new build until now. But now, when I run it within a text console (no X session) I have this kind of message:

that should be fine and safe, almost overkill. make_services updates document types, app lists and services entries, so it is useful to be run anytime you install a new application (or update it so that it recognizes new types). If you just replace something or install a framework it is not needed, but it does no harm at all.

NSServices entry 0 app is not live - /home/patrick/GNUstep/Library/Services/Terminal/Services.plist. NSServices entry 1 app is not live - /home/patrick/GNUstep/Library/Services/Terminal/Services.plist.

Does it mean that we should not use it out a X session?

I have never seen such errors in 20 years :-o I think they are harmless, but maybe Richard knows more.

To understand my context: GNUstep.sh is sourced within .bash_profile.
that is fine. GNUstep.sh prepares environment variables for any GNUstep application or tool. I did not put it in my bash profile just not to "pollute" because in past it caused issues with other apps or environments using the same variables, but that was a long time ago and should be no issue anymore.

Happy Christmas' Eve
