Woah - hold it a moment!
Yes, OpenSRS is doing a good job from a customer service and technical
viewpoint - I won't argue with you on this point at all.
However, to say it is "absurd" for somebody to point out domain names are
retailing below the OpenSRS wholesale price is out of order.
Pricing is a very important subject in this or any business. As part of any
business, this subject and many others need to be reviewed on an on-going
basis. When OpenSRS set the $10 wholesale price at the end of last year,
the average retail price was MUCH higher - almost nobody was offering names
below $20 per year. Now it seems $10 per year or lower isn't hard to find.
Should OpenSRS lower it's wholesale price? That's for OpenSRS to decide.
If resellers though are suffering from low-priced competition they cannot
hope to match then they are right to point this out to OpenSRS - and should
be able to do so without fear of condescending feedback.
