It's included as an example only, for those who might want to roll their own
registration script. It demonstrates the bare minimum client, using
virtually no error checking, and completely bypasses the Reseller interface
(in particular the option to "pend" registrations before they are released
to the registry). For that reason, it shouldn't be left in place on a
production server, but it's a nice thing to include in the distribution.
I don't know the answer to your other question...presumably yes. OpenSRS
has always been good about providing a test facility that is completely
decoupled from real life...well, at least the dangerous parts of real life
:)

Subject: Quaestion about register.cgi and also, the test interface.
Perhaps I've missed something in the docs, but I'm wondering why
register.cgi is included in the distribution, if it's not recommended that
it be left where it can be used?
also,
Is it ok to use ca and uk domains as well as com/net/org when 'testing'
using the pre-live testbed?
thanks
Robert.
