It really depends on what IP address you're using for the nameserver. The
root registry only allows a one to one matchup of IPs to hostnames.

Try using a whois client and querying whois.crsnic.net with the IP,
like...

$ whois -h whois.crsnic.net 207.136.10.145

   Server Name: NS1.TUCOWS.COM
   IP Address: 207.136.100.145
   Registrar: TUCOWS.COM, INC.
   Whois Server: whois.opensrs.net
   Referral URL: www.opensrs.org

That will tell you if you have a "unique attribute" (which is likely the
error you're getting, but I can't tell because you haven't provided it...)
