In addition to registering them (With OpenSRS), you need to define ns1.* and ns2.* in your zone files.

Subject: ongoing name server issues

Well I thought my name server issues were over  !!

Can anyone explain why when I enter a tracert  like this

C:\>tracert ns1.pagesystems.com
Unable to resolve target system name ns1.pagesystems.com.

C:\>tracert ns2.pagesystems.com
Unable to resolve target system name ns2.pagesystems.com.

 I get the above result

When I enter ip  LIKE THIS  MY NAME SERVERS SHOW UP

C:\>tracert 63.147.147.81

Tracing route to ns1.pagesystems.com [63.147.147.81]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1    24 ms    26 ms    25 ms  10.0.0.1
  2   172 ms   379 ms   162 ms  tnt23.tco2.da.uu.net [206.115.156.23]
  3   291 ms   141 ms   276 ms  GigabitEthernet2-0.DR3.TCO2.Alter.Net [206.115.2

C:\>tracert 63.147.147.82

Tracing route to ns2.pagesystems.com [63.147.147.82]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1    26 ms    30 ms    26 ms  10.0.0.1
  2   153 ms   149 ms   189 ms  tnt23.tco2.da.uu.net [206.115.156.23]
  3   147 ms   164 ms   204 ms  GigabitEthernet2-0.DR3.TCO2.Alter.Net [206.115.2

I registered the name servers with openSRS  about 8 days ago
and they were working

If anyone remembers my post I had my host names with Internic before moving to openSRS

If someone can run a tracert see if they get same result as me I'd appriciate it
