How Re-registration Works for Webnames' Customers
=================================================
Webnames has established an automated re-registration system to simplify the
CIRA re-registration process for you.
As an existing Webnames customer you will be sent an email providing access
to an easy-to-use, Automated Re-registration System. This system helps you
complete the re-registration process, ensuring that your domain name is
secured and properly transferred to CIRA.
Re-registration Terms & Fees
----------------------------
CIRA requires that you register your .CA domain to your anniversary date in
2002.
When you registered your domain name with Webnames we made a commitment that
your registration would be inclusive of CIRA's registration fee. We remain
committed to this promise.
When you Re-register using Webnames' Automated System you will notice that
the minimum re-registration period will be to the year 2002. Since you have
already paid Webnames to year 2001, you will only be asked to extend your
registration for one additional year as required by CIRA. You will also be
given the option to extend your registration up to a maximum of 10 years to
year 2010.
Example:
You registered your domain name with Webnames for one year from July 1, 2000
to July 1, 2001 (July 1 is your anniversary date).
As required by CIRA, you re-register your domain name between September 18
and November 1
Webnames covers the CIRA fees to July 1, 2001.
CIRA requires you to re-register your domain to your anniversary date in
the year 2002 (July 1, 2002 in this example).
Webnames' Automated Re-registration System will ask you to re-register to
your anniversary date in 2002 and provide you with the option to register
for a longer period (Webnames' offers discounts for longer terms which
include CIRA's fees)
