Well, I've had several clients who registered domains there....they
ALL thought that internic.ca was THE Internic....they did not know
they were just one registrar of many.
In addition, Internic.ca began accepting advance registrations WELL
before anyone else. I think I recall it was back in August
sometime, maybe before that.
They played to the vulnerability of people believing they were THE
place to go based on their domain name.... At one time they
charged $100US to register .com's AND .ca's (yep, that's when the
.ca domains were free...)
Nuff said?

So, Internic.ca says they've done more .ca registrations
than ALL OTHER REGISTRAR/RSP's _combined_.
Why, in God's name, would that be?
Seriously, I'm interested in knowing what is being done
so well there. All I can see is a slapdash storefront running
ASP, with NO additional services WHATSOEVER. No enhanced DNS,
no e-mail, no hosting, nothing.
Just registrations. I frequently hear a great deal of talk about
domains being a losing proposition for a revenue stream.
<blink, blink>
Pricing:
gTLD's: $35 (yep, that's aggressive)
ccTLD's: $100 CND for two years. (W-0-W)
Yes, they've definitely shown that price cutting is always the best
solution :-p
Still, I would really love if someone would tell me what they
_are_ doing to corral all that traffic?
Charles, I know _you'll_ tell me the unvarnished truth :-)
