It sounds like the same reply you get when you try to list
a nameserver that isn't recognized by the root registry
as a nameserver.
IE - a mistype / misspell
Try using the same info in the manage interface as your nameserver
and see if it is recognized. Easier still, just do a nameserver lookup
and see if it shows up (whois.internic.net)

Subject: next question ... about Custom Nameservers option
I had supposed that selecting the option [Custom Nameservers] = 1, to allow
the user to input their own nameservers, would be ok. However, when the
custom nameservers were put in, the regsystem complains that the name
servers weren't in the registration database, and the attempt failed!
This is from the customer interface on the web pages.
I had "custom techinfo" and "custom nameservers" options in OpenSRS.conf set
to 1, enabling the options.
The default nameservers are of course entered in my TechContact info in the
resellers area, but is apparently ignored in this case. Or that's what is
causing it to fall over?
So, does anyone know whats happenig here?
ta muchly
