because he told you where to find the answer instead of just giving it to
you.

If you are going to provide this service to you clients, you should take the
time to read the FAQs and support documents, which would answer this
question for you.  You admit yourself that the question probably has been
asked before, so you should be willing to do a little work yourself to
determine the answer before asking the group to do the work for you.
