(-: Ive got a good one.

We have a client who was getting pretty concerned about NSI frequent requests for money and threats of deactivation, so i said that i would try to get NSI to confirm for the customer that they have a mistake with there billing system.

So i sent an email to the address provided on the payment reminder form, only to get an email back 4 days later to tell me to send it to another address, you would of though that it would have just been easier for them to forward it for me, but no.

So then i send the email to the new address, attached is a copy of the new whois lookup with OpenSRS as the registrar and no mention of NSI, i asked that they confirm that the domain was transferred away from them and they nolonger had any power over the domain.

After a short wait of 3 days or so, i got back the below.

Thank you for contacting Network Solutions.

We have received your message indicating that you do not wish
to re-register your domain name. Please disregard any additional
Final Notices or Deactivation Notices you receive.

Umm one would almost think from this that if i wasn't going to pay them i would lose the domain, back to square one !!

So i have sent another email that is a little more well attention grabbing and im keeping my fingers crossed.

Matt.

Has anyone notices NSI demanding $70 for two years domains renewals instead of
$35 for one?

Perhaps it is an attempt to lock people into two years fees before they
transfer?

I have seen this several times of late.
