Sorry if this already hit the list, my email is acting strange.

Does anyone out their know how the new IP protocol coming in the next 2-5
years will affect tld's ? i am assuming opensrs.com as a domain would still
work, am wondering if someone could sum up in layman terms how this v6
protocol will impact domain name allocations, sales, etc.

i've checked some sites using google, but not found any information about
it's impact. My guess is that IPV6 opens up a the possibility of a
gazillion numerical IP addresses, but will allow for current naming
practices to continue with possible hyperwide use for specific devices, like
refrigerators or whatever to have ip's.

One person i know thinks that IPV6 will render TLD's meaningless. I don't
see how that's possible.

any comments and url links about this would be appreciated.

Here's a site i've found about it, http://www.ipv6.org/
