I have transferred several from register.com. I routinely ignore their
emails, since ignoring their message is NOT grounds for them to block the
transfer.
Then again, I've got a couple notes on my file, one of them being "When this
a--hole phones in, transfer directly to a supervisor, do not attempt to
b.s., just transfer the call" ...
In short, I've worked (And still continue to do so) in a hosting/DSL/RSP
call center, in what effectively amounts to the complaints dept, and I've
been trained by the best a--holes out there how to get what I want, or ruin
the rep's day, without raising my voice or swearing or doing anything that
justifies being hung up on.
I suspect that they might manually push them through, ever since I had
several long (We're talking hour plus) conversations with them, things have
gone much more smoothly, and I haven't needed to call again.
The calls were on a variety of topics, mainly on the various ICANN
regulation violations that repeated calls and over a month of waiting did
not resolve (Their system was misrepresenting the name servers attached to
my domains, not submitting updates on some domains at all, mail bombing me
with transfer requests -- then insisting I answer all 100+ with
authorization to transfer the domain, etc)
