If they are "working on a fix", they better stop for a minute and review
the procedures as there is suppose to be a 5 day hold between a delete
request from a registrar and the official removal from the registry. This
is a bit of protection for the domain holder just in case something went
wrong somewhere--it gives them five more days to correct the problem.
Looking at this another way, perhaps the 5 day wait shouldn't apply after
the 40 day hold after expiration, but only apply when a delete request is
received prior to the domain's expiration date.
