I second that motion. Although I have laid into new.net, and the company is
possibly a bit miffed about it, I do genuinely respect them for coming on
this forum and discussing the company and it's ideals with us - or should I
say "defending themselves". I think that's a great start for new.net, but it
is only a start in my opinion.

All the talk so far has been theoretical and philosophical. There's no
definitive answers to the real questions that are most important, such as
what happens to new.net customers - and of course their domains - if new.net
goes bust; or what happens if ICANN decide to implement TLD's already
implemented by new.net. If new.net don't have policies for dealing with the
failure of the company in their business plan, it's flawed. If they do, their
customers should know about it, because it has a direct effect on them.

And saying ICANN are unlikely to introduce duplicate TLD's is simply not good
enough - the plain fact of the matter is that as the recognised administrator
for the gTLD roots, they can do it if they want to, and new.net should have
policies in place for dealing with that. And again, if they do have policies,
they should inform their customers about them, because again they have a
direct effect.

Of course, all of the postings have been superceded in my mind by one short
comment, the fact that new.net are unwilling to disclose the directors of the
company. This has contributed in no small part to my scepticism. If the
company hasn't got anything to hide, they shouldn't have a problem disclosing
this information.

Please don't respond to this posting with the aforementioned theories and
philosophies. Answer the questions.
