Ok, we've found the problem and are working on a solution.  It appears that
*most* renewals go out, but not *all* renewals.  The messages are there, no
data's lost, just have to find the cause (we're forcing them out now, so
you'll get them, just going to make sure it works without intervention).

Apologies, of course, and thanks for the update.  I'll go back under that
rock whence I came...
