All,

The "denied transfers" issue has been brought up on the ICANN DNSO General
Assembly mailing list. This list is essentially a melting pot of opinions
and positions on all domain name related matters under ICANN's purview.

The initial message on the matter can be found in the GA archive @
http://www.dnso.org/clubpublic/ga/Arc07/msg03076.html

If you wish to subscribe to this list to follow the discussion, send an
email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the words subscribe ga in the body of the
message.

I would heartily recommend that anyone with an opinion on this matter weigh
in with their comments.

Some excerpts...

"...the voice of small business and the voice of the individual is not being
heard in these discussions."

"What is apparent to many of us is that as a result of recent activities,
the
consumer is being hurt. Transfer requests are routinely being denied by
certain registrars, often without explanation, and consumer confusion is
rampant. When is a domain name truly expired? Why hasn't a domain been
released to the registry after several months of being listed as expired?
Under what conditions can a transfer be made or not made? There are as many
answers as there are registrars because the ICANN Registrar Accreditation
Agreement provides no set policy"

These are all great starting points for discussion. Make sure that ICANN
hears what you have to say.
