Kirk (et al), We are aware of some slowness in the mornings during the "landrush" when names are released back into the namespace. We have several initiatives at OpenSRS to alleviate this traffic (by putting the speculators elsewhere), rate limiting resellers to prevent abuse but still allow legitimate traffic through (including domain management, etc), and place mechanisms to handle registry slowness (they too are hammered in the mornings). This will all be rolling out over the next few weeks and you should notice small improvements peacemeal. More to come (updated "Acceptable Usage Policy" with published limits, etc) Charles Daminato TUCOWS Product Manager [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Mon, 6 Aug 2001, Kirk Fletcher wrote: > > Has anyone else been experiencing timeouts with opensrs lately? > The frequency seems to be increasing, and customers are noticing > and complaining. > > It seems to be with lookups and we're losing customers as a result. > I'm sure it can't be just us...
