sorry to bother, but I would like to check if this scenario is possible -
has it happened to anyone before?
- we are on quickstart
- we check that a domain name is available
- we register the new domain name using the opensrs interface
- it's completed successfully and listed in the completed queue
- we take payment, send the customer the login and password to
manage.opensrs.net
- sometime later (fuzzy on when), we realize that the domain name is
actually registered by register.com and to another party entirely (date
listed is same day we completed the registration with our opensrs interface)
This is apparently what we think happened to us regarding one domain name
that we registered in June. why i say "think" is because the customer in
question informed us of the domain name being registered to another party
(their competitor) only last week - the customer service rep. from our side
is very sure she registered the domain live and we are usually careful with
this, but now when we check the interface the domain name is listed in the
pending orders with notes that the domain is taken. (so of course it is
extremely possible that we registered it into pending - the default - and
then never set it live. unfortunately, we did not test the login and
password that was sent out either.).
my question is: is this other scenario actually possible? that a domain name
can be listed as completed registration successfully, then later pops back
into pending?
