They will probably say to use named-based virtual hosting..
(But we know better that NBVH does not work with SSL)

That's the only easy answer,
they probably expect everyone to use the private IP ranges internally, and
either proxy
or NAT all outgoing requests..
Of course, that does not help incoming requests..
