Your critiques are not informed. The Registry's current policy allows each registrar three pools of connections with which to register names. The first two will serve the concerns you mention about registering names. The third acknowledges the reality that there is a secondary market. Pool 1: All registrars get necessary connections to operate their daily business. This is for you. Pool 2: An overflow pool for registrars whose historical registration needs are high. This is for you, too. Pool 3: The 50 threads for automated batch processing of the sort we do. This is for he who can put forth the best case to the registrar, the Registry, and ICANN. This is also for you, unless my case is better. I'm happy to give information. On the other hand, ad hominem attacks such as those below I will interpret as a lack of interest in Tucows' proposition to its resellers, and I will simply record that lack of interest as a "no" next to the "yes" column. I am here to answer, to -- yes -- market, and to do business; I'm afraid I'm not here to be a sounding board for everyone's problems with the system. I ONLY CARE THAT I CAN GET A SOCKET TO THE REGISTRY WHEN I WANT ONE. I don't want to have to explain to my customers that they couldn't register a domain because we couldn't get access to the registry due to someone else using up all the resources.
