Until a domain appears at whois.corenic.net -- you can sometimes find out
which registrar registered a new domain by querying whois.opensrs.net or
whois.networksolutions.com, or whois.register.com etc.
Usually a new domain will appear in the whois database of the registrar
BEFORE it appears anywhere else. In this case, if you know a domain is
taken, and you need to find out which registrar registered it, theoretically
you could query every whois server known and see if one of them replies with
the information.
