Odd. I've never seen this. The next item it checks
is the version of Perl, so I suppose it's possible that
whatever version of Perl you're running doesn't respond as
expected to the inquiry.
Go to a command prompt and issue the command
perl --version
and let me know what the result is, OK?
Also, you may try running verify_install.cgi from a
command line, logged on with admin privileges and see if you
get any more descriptive error messages.
