but we did manage to cover payroll through this first phase of .info adventure 1) we emailed only existing clients - if they had xyzdomain.net our email would tell them that xyzdomain.info and xyzdomain.biz will be an available option (about 5,000 emails) - only 1 client came back at us and asked us not to email them again. We did some advertising on the web for new domain registrations spent about $500 over 2 months and of course had the banner ads on our site 2) resulted in about 480 .infos preregs and little over 300 .biz 3) out of 480 .infos we ended with about 155 (not sure yet 'cause cannot fully reconcile yet) .infos registered at retail $17 per year so it did cover payroll, with about 40-60 hours so far of labour invested in customer service, credit card charging manually then refunds then emailing results to customers.... now we have about 40 .info domains pending as a result of those clients discovering us and trying real time regs...(and processed about 15 .infos in the brief elusive period when .info went live) . so even though it is a pain in you know what... I think .info and .biz was a winning proposition as opposed to .tv where we see only about average 10 domain years per month inspite of us advertising those .tvs. I'd go for the colombian .co or a new generic non country specific stuff similar to .biz or .info ..... again, we are just staying away from the .vc or .ws and such because those are just not good revenue makers...
