I'm posting the Exhibit A for .name on my site so I can accept .name preregistrations for a few customers.
I'm using the template for this at: http://www.opensrs.org/nameexhibita.html Unfortunately, it needs a cleanup (to put it mildly). Just a few of the more glaring examples: - the first link (to ICANN) has a typo that makes it fail; - the second link is supposed to point to an acceptable use policy on the OpenSRS site, but the resulting page has no such policy; - parts of section 24 run into section 25. I could keep going, but you get the idea. Also, it's still created in Word, which makes it almost impossible to modify the style to match our design (the HTML source will curl your toes) and leads to freakish things like curly quotes being used half the time, but not the other half. Finally, some of the legal parts still seem to be inconsistent with OpenSRS "real life" policies. For example, it says that in the case of an ownership transfer, the person must submit details of the transfer and the new owner's acceptance of the contract terms in writing. However, OpenSRS staff actually tell people to merely update the administrative contact to the new owner, even if the transfer resulted from a legal dispute. These points have all come up before. I think it's long past time to fix them. -- Robert L Mathews, Tiger Technologies
