Hi, Nominet is authoritative for .co.uk so you won't get better than that. They are planning to have more information in their whois output in the future (i.e. contact details for the registrant) but this will take some time before it's implemented.
The whole of .uk is listed in the whois.rfc-ignorant.org blacklist because of the lack of information in the whois output. Mark.
