DNS Required at sign-up?

Hi All...    I am using the OpenSRS client software, and I noticed that it REQUIRES dns information at sign-up. I though that when purchasing a domain, that this was optional and if nothing was put in that OpenSRS would put my name server info in their until then entered some information (i.e.:Park it with my DNS server)    ???
