Here is a message I found in a web forum that mentioned our company i.e. <OpenSRS reseller> and GoDaddy. Names have been changed to protect the innocent... I think <OpenSRS reseller> fee is $$/year after the initial transfer at $$ for one year. I had my <domain> domain name with them the first year and it was $$. I just transferred my husband's domain name from Network Solutions to <OpenSRS reseller> for $$, but I seem to remember that it will be $$ to renew next year. I wanted to transfer my <domain> to GoDaddy, since they were so cheap. I started the process a month before it was to expire. I didn't hear a thing from them for three weeks. I then decided to call them and see what was going on, since I only had less than a week left. The girl at GoDaddy said she'd e-mail <OpenSRS reseller> and suggested I do too. I did, and <OpenSRS reseller> e-mailed me back that they didn't know what I was talking about. So I called them. The girl there told me they hadn't had any communication from GoDaddy. A couple of days later, I tried calling GoDaddy again, but their tech support policy had changed. Now if you want to talk to someone on the phone, you have to go their Web site and fill out a form and PAY FOR IT!! It's a minimum of $7.50, with a per-minute charge of something (I forget). They said if you don't want to pay for phone support, then you can e-mail them. I tried e-mailing them from my account on their Web site. I sent them FIVE e-mails on this one incident and didn't receive ONE REPLY from them!! The day before my domain name was to expire, <OpenSRS reseller> sent me an e-mail telling me to renew or I'd lose my domain name, so naturally I did. The next day, they sent me another e-mail telling me that they couldn't renew it because I had transferred it to GoDaddy!!! A few hours later, I got an e-mail from GoDaddy saying that my domain name had been successfully transferred!! HUH?? Where have you been the past month???? Their new tech support policy is totally unacceptable. This was an emergency situation and they were not returning ANY of my e-mails or keeping me informed about anything that was going on. I will NEVER use them again, no matter how cheap they are. And I will never recommend them to anyone. In fact, I'd try to discourage people from using them. I was going to use them for my husband's domain name renewal, but I went with <OpenSRS reseller> instead. At least they have phone support (toll-free, too!!) and try to help you, person-to-person. I'd rather pay more for something, knowing I'll get support when I need it. This is NOT the case with GoDaddy. Good luck to you if you ever need to contact them!
