URL encoding being applied to the password field would do that.

Subject: Has anybody ever come across this?

I had a customer register with the password:     L5hyQ>sm
It was confirmed in the email he received when the registration was completed.
When he went to log in though, it had been changed to:   L5hyQ>sm

Any ideas on how it could happen?

Thank-you,

Dennis Hisey
