Hello,

Sorry for the delay on this.....I wasn't in Friday or Monday.....

1. Verisign has announced that what was supposed to happen mid-January will now likely happen towards the end of Q1 (that's all I got). This is because, in their opinion, the IETF is close to the standard that they've been working on, and it doesn't make sense to duplicate work (assuming Verisign had originally planned something that might differ from the standard) in so short a time frame.

As to the tool...again, we *want* one, it doesn't mean we'll get it. We could probably build one in the time we have, but my feeling today is that we're just as well off to get the lists of converted names from Verisign and give them to resellers (and to give resellers the link to Verisign's own conversion tool, which is public).

I'll be announcing this in an LRU within the week.....

Thanks,

Ken

Subject: multilingual domains and zq--ACEencodedname...

> As of January 2001, the DNS entry will have to be changed to:

> zq--ACEencodedname.mltbd.com IN A ip.add.re.ss

and the last reseller update about multilingual domains from opensrs... verisign was going to change from RACE encoding to ACE-Z type in january.

what's up?

> We are working to this tool modified for bulk conversion, and working to acquire a version of this tool that we can host ourselves.
