No backroom deals here. On the GA list I have achieved a rare bit of concession. Mr. Gomes has agreed to take into consideration the results directly from a GA working group on this issue. Because of this groups' outcry and some consolidated effort, the people (you and I) Have been acknowledged directly and not through some hierarchy of ICANN. I have already written my praise to the opensrs.org management. I am experiencing some list difficulties right now but soon a working group where you are all invited will spring forth. The first order of business will be the construction of a dozen questions to VRSN and then by the end of January a paper submitted. All I can promise is mano y mano contact between us and Verisign that is documented and some sort of consensus with documented dissension.
