Ah ha! I think you got it! At the bottom of my order.cgi I have this:

<pre>* - Phone and fax formats are as follows (extention is optional):
    +{country_dialing_code}.{phone_number}[x{extension}]
    eg. "+44.02055511928"
<input type=hidden name=affiliate_id value="{{affiliate_id}}">
<input type=hidden name=action value=verify_order>
{{domain_string}}</pre>

Boy, if I chopped off the bottom of the template when I was customizing it I'm really going to feel like a dip!
Thanks for the help Michael, and the affiliate info. I think that should get me pointed in the right direction.

I'm sorry...I thought you were talking about the verify_install script. Silly me!

I don't understand what you mean about not seeing the hidden field. The mainmenu.html template should ask for the username which will get passed back to reg_system.cgi and then show up as a hidden field (see bottom of order.html template).

Do you have this at the bottom of your order.html template:
<input type=hidden name=affiliate_id value="{{affiliate_id}}">
<input type=hidden name=action value=verify_order>
{{domain_string}}
<input type=hidden name=reg_username value="{{reg_username}}">
<input type=hidden name=reg_password value="{{reg_password}}">
<input type=hidden name=reg_domain value="{{reg_domain}}">
<input type=hidden name=reg_type value="{{reg_type}}">
<input type=hidden name=bulk_order value="{{bulk_order}}">
</form>
<BR>

As far as the affiliate_id goes, if you get partners, they can put a link on their site along the lines of:
    <a href="http://yoursite/cgi/reg_system.cgi?affiliate_id=partner007>Register a Domain Name</a>

You can then use that ID in tracking as well as customizing messages (set up thru the RWI). You can also write additional code that looks for that ID and then makes up different prices, etc, etc, etc.

Oh yeah. You bet. And everything as far as the install itself checks out ok.
At least that's what verify_install.cgi says. That's the strange part. Everything flows along fine till I try to submit to the "verify_order" function from the "order.html" template.

Have you defined your OpenSRS RSP username in your OpenSRS.conf file?

Hi everyone,
    Ok, first off I want to say to all, "Please don't yell at me if you go
look at my site." Yes, I am currently a RCOM reseller. I know, I know...
I'll say it myself... "You IDIOT!!!". The lure of a couple bucks higher
profit margin sucked me in a few months back when I was deciding what
registrar to use. I blew it...I know it, and I am currently working out my
new site so I can get as far away from those A**holes as possible. So,
anyway, trust me... You don't need to yell at me. I've been kicking myself
in the butt over this for the past couple of months.

So, with that said, I'm hoping someone can help me out on a couple of
implementation questions I have. I have the 2.46 build installed, and
everything looks fine, but I'm getting a "No username supplied" error when I
pass to the "verify_order" routine in reg_system.cgi. I've looked things
over as best I can, and everything looks fine, except that I don't see a
hidden "reg_username" field when the page pulling from the "order.html"
template gets built. Also, I've noticed that the hidden "affiliate_id" field
is blank on every page, but I couldn't find a definition for that in the
config file.

Anyone have any ideas on where I should look to track this down?

And again, please don't yell at me about the RCOM thing. Trust me, I've
learned my lesson the hard way... Now I just want to get switched over to
Tucows as fast as I can!

Thanks in advance for anyone's thoughts on this.

Mark Petersen
