There is one pattern: Domains in which there is a nameserver take longer
to delete. They cannot be deleted before the nameserver is deleted first.
So if you see (made up example):

Domain Name: WXW.COM
   Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, INC.
   Whois Server: whois.networksolutions.com
   Referral URL: http://www.networksolutions.com
   Name Server: NS0.WXW.COM
   Name Server: NS1.WXW.COM
   Updated Date: 18-may-2002

Then it takes longer. Years sometimes.
